mystery code or virus?

After receiving a e-mail that had " " within its context and being informed that the sender did not included it in their message,i decide to do a search. Found a website that addressed this code in a rather vaque manner.I then did a search on a couple of virus info pages but never found it identified as a virus.Anybody here famliar with this code?Is this a real threat that can be transmiited to another computer?Any insight would be appreciated.
