    Hi all, Win98SE and MYIE2 v. 0.8.130.
With this version, the Favorites menu is shown as I set it up
with drag and drop. Any newer version sorts the Favorites by
Folder/Folder name/Url/Url name. Organise Favorites from the
Tab shows my desired, correct sequence.
Anyone have the same problem ... or solved it ?
    regards

merlin - sorry but I can't tell exactly what it you consider a problem that you want to solve. How do you want to arrange them?

Hi Newt and thanks for your post.
I will give you a short example of the problem I have with
recent versions of MYIE2. By the way - no answers on the
author's forum that I can find.
    - load up MYIE2 (Win98SE)
    - click favorites
    - choose "Organise Favorites "
    - I see a correctly ordered menu with :
    abcdefg (url)
    rstuvw (url)
    ABCDE (folder)
    hijklm (url)
    FGHIJ (Folder)

I set up this display sequence with drag and drop as that is
the order in which I want my browser to show me the Favorites.
Windows stores the menu order in registry keys.
If I click Favorites in MYIE2 (and most other browsers I have looked at), I get
    ABCDE
    FGHIJ
    abcdefg
    hijklm
    rstuvw

This is the "physical, alphanumeric" order of the Folders and Files read straight from
    C:\Windows\Favorites
without reading the registry Menu Order entries.
If I use MS IE6, the Favorites menu is correctly shown.
As mentioned, I have yet to find an alternative browser that
does this correctly. Also, I do not follow why it works
perfectly in v 0.8.130 and before, but not in later versions.
Do you use MYIE2 ? Apart from this problem with later versions,
I prefer it to straight IE Explorer on which it places a quick and
    otherwise useful interface.
    Regards

    Thanks merlin. Perfectly clear now.

Sorry but no I don't use the app. I have to support IE and it works well enough for me that I have opted not to use one browser and try to remember how to operate another. I sorta preferred Opera back in the days when I only dealt with myself though.

If the registry entries are correct for the order you want, then it's pretty well gotta be app specific as you said so it's a shame that tech support for the app can't/won't help.

One suggestion for dealing with your top favorites might be to put them in the 'links' folder so they show on a toolbar and will almost certainly maintain the proper order there. I have about a dozen sites I visit regularly and they are all (with very shortened titles) available as a clickable item on my toolbar since I set links to show.

Not sure if MYIE2 has the feature but if it does, you might want to try it. Since I set up that way I rarely go into the general favorites section.

    Thanks Newt
I will raise the issue with MYIE2 support again.
It does support the Links Toolbar, so I will try a workaround with that, as you suggested.
    regards
