    http://www.lefty.colleenmcgarry.com/ says "Error on page" on the bottom left hand corner of the screen. I have used Mozilla Firefox to try to debug but I am not experienced in finding the errors. I changed my scrollbars and checked my "right click disable" code but those don't seem to be the errors. Could someone check this site and tell me where the errors are? Thanks!

    IE shows error on page, but Firefox loads without errors. Who built this page?

    Broni, thanks for the reply. My friend built this page for me. He uses a WYSIWYG editor (webpage maker I believe).

    Can you ask your friend to take another look at the page code?

    Interesting...the end of the page TonyT linked also displays a "Tidy" source code listing that you might want to try using to replace your current HTML for the web page.

    Be sure to save a backup or two of your current web page HTML source code beforehand in case things don't work as you wish.

    Apparently, "HTML Tidy" is an open-source project at SourceForge.net.

    HTML Help References

    In case you want to dabble (or dive) in manually editing HTML (i.e., with Windows Notepad or other text editor), here are some links (in no particular order).

    You might want to click on the post number in the upper-right corner of this message (or click here) to open the message in a separate window and then bookmark that link for handy reference.

    ==========

    You may want to check your web page's color scheme in regards to how it may be viewed by colorblind people. I suggest you visit http://www.vischeck.com/ and look around. There is a lot of interesting information there. You can see how a colorblind person might view your page by typing www.lefty.colleenmcgarry.com into the "URL:..." field in this link. You can also see how a colorblind person might view pictures/graphics you have on your hard drive by uploading them at this link.

    A significant percentage of the world's population is colorblind so I think one would be wise to consider them when designing a web site. (Your web page already looks pretty good as a deuteranope colorblind-simulation. :))

    ==========

    Years ago, I purchased a laminated HTML Card and Web Safe Color Card from VisiBone.

    The VisiBone HTML Card is handy for someone who is already familiar with HTML or someone who has only a basic knowlege of HTML but likes to experiment. If one is a beginner and would rather avoid experimenting as much as possible, then a good HTML book is probably a better choice.

    The VisiBone Color Card is a handy reference for people who wish to use "web-safe" colors in their web pages. Web-safe colors are the 216 colors most widely supported by web browsers. If you don't want to purchase a color card, VisiBone offers a free online web-safe color picker for you to use. VisiBone has a "popup" color picker you can use online or you can download and install it on your computer.

    VisiBone also offers several other products and free online services which may be handy for web page developers.

    Products

    Free Online Services

    • Color Lab
    • Swatch Libraries
    • Online Color Chart
    • HTML Tags
    • Popups
    • JavaScript
    • JavaScript Regular Expressions
    • Character References
    • Country Code Splist

    If you decide to subscribe to the "VisiBone Announcements ", then I expect you will NOT be spammed. I get maybe one or two e-mails a year from there.
