I'm 72, amicably divorced (we're still good friends ... we just weren't good spouses), with 3 children and 2 grandsons. I was born and raised in Ohio, but have lived on the North Shore of Long Island (NY) for nearly 41 years. Hobbies are travel, digital photography, reading and, of course, the computer.

I spent nearly 40 years of my adult life as a professional pilot ... 7+ years in USAF and 32+ happy years with TWA, flying their domestic and international routes. I flew some great airplanes, with some great people, and retired in 1998.

I bought my first computer, a Commodore Amiga 2000, in 1987, when TWA first allowed the pilots home access to the company's mainframe computer. I finally bit the bullet and bought my first PC in 1997, following the advice of my elder son (a computer sales manager, no less), who said I would never need a hard drive larger than 4 (that's four!) GB. Little did we know!

Several PCs later, I'm happy with XP Pro SP3, Firefox 3.0 and Thunderbird 2.0.x, and have no intention of moving to Vista until I absolutely have to.

I've been active on the BBS since 2002, and you'll find me mostly in the Firefox, Thunderbird & SeaMonkey forum, where I try to answer questions and provide help when I can. Kudos to all the great folks who give their time and share their expertise.
