How might I find the "my recent documents" folder? I use the classic mode for XP, and the "my recent documents" appears in a "save as" window, but not in the start menu. Therefore, I can't follow the instructions about using that start menu item & manipulating its contents. The same folder appears in the "my recent documents" in, for example, "typical folder name "(15), that is there are 15 showings of the same folder & I want to trim it down to just one.

Any help (especially that which comes from your having read my paragraph above completely through, and understood it) is appreciated, however, please do not repeat the advice of looking in the start menu for "my recent documents ". As stated above, that item DOES NOT APPEAR.

    Thanks.

Well, I read it and think maybe (maybe) I understand it.

How might I find the "my recent documents" folder?

Very simple answer is that each user account will have a folder for 'My Recent Documents' and you can find said folder in Documents & settings/username for each user. So there is no "the " Recent Documents folder.

I leave it as an exercise for the student to figure out how to proceed from that point and get what you want into your (user specific) start menu although if you had been less insulting with your initial post, I'd probably have given you a complete how-to sort of an answer.
