I uninstalled the software for the printer and removed the printer device. The printer is still showing in the list of devices and printers, but greyed out.

When I remove the greyed out printer from the list in devices, it comes back. How do I get rid of this greyed out printer in the list of devices?

    Epson Workforce 500 printer.

Hi Evan. I checked under printer que and this is what's there:

    Capture.JPG

Should I do anything with these?

If I edit the registry, I'm using a local printer not network, I would follow all the steps and then just choice the last step listed for local printers. Is that correct?

Click Start< Computer and navigate to the following directory:

    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete everything in that folder but don't remove the folder itself.

While I was waiting for your response I decided to Rclick greyed out printer and choose to view current jobs. There was a clean nozzle and another maintenance job in there.

I chose to cancel the jobs. It said deleting but it didn't seem to be doing anything. I tried again and got an error message, but when I went back to check, the printer was gone from the list of printers.

Should I proceed with registry edit you listed above still? I'm going to install a different printer.

If it is gone as you say it is, leave the registry alone.

If the printer has been successfully deleted then no there is no need to edit the registry.
