The PC goes to a screen right after the windows thing loads, and it says windows needs to check for consitency. I did the check and it said "deleting corrupted attribute." It had repeated that statement a few times. I canceled it though because I didin't know if I should allow it to delete stuff, or not.

MatthewlikesSam - Welcome to the Board :)

It looks like your hard drive 4 has a few problems - I suggest you backup the contents as a safeguard - presumably it is a data drive? - to an external source and run chkdsk /f .....

Start > Run > type in cmd > Enter

In the command window which opens type cd\ at the flashing cursor and Enter which will take you to C:\

Then type X: > enter where X is the letter of your Drive 4

At the X:\ prompt type chkdsk /f > Enter. Chkdsk may take some time to complete - /f calls for an exhaustive check of the drive and corrects any errors.

An explanation of another probable cause is given here ....

An alternative to chkdsk is the disk diagnostic software from the drive manufacturer ....
