The person who installed and set up my Windows XP spelled my name wrong. Specifically how would I go about changing the spelling to my correct name? Thank you.

To Paul: On the link you gave me, in the right pane, all I saw was ab(default), REG_SZ, and (value not set). What do I do now? Thank you.

Sorry I mis read your problem. You have accessed the registry ok. when you click on the currentVersion registry tree in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion you should see a number of entries with one of those being RegisteredOwner and your name in the third data column. Double click on the RegisteredOwner entry to be able to change your name.
Maximise the registry window to see all the data.

    Sorry abx,
I've hit a brick wall on this one. Don't know why you can't see the info that should be there. Double check that you have followed the correct registry tree all the way from the beginning. I suggest you close all the trees and start fresh from the beginning. Other than that...

    Start~run~regedt32
    Minimize all hives (HKEY_whatever)
Edit~find~ and enter the wrong spelling
    - make sure keys, values, data are checked
    - make sure Match Whole String is unchecked

When you get a hit, change it to what you want.

F3 will start the search again from there.

    Change all you find.
