    Hello to all,

The following is the text in the pop up when I click on Internet Explorer :

“Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem & needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

[Box with check mark] restart Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Could you please advise how I can get rid of this annoyance because I can’t get into Internet Explorer.

    Thanks very much.

Have you tried to REPAIR Internet Explorer? Use the ADD/REMOVE programs icon in the MY COMPUTER CONTROL PANEL.

There should have been more than that ?

search your pc for a file called "dw.log "
and post the info partaining t the date the error uccured
ie the latest one.Might as well post two of them we dont need all the extra content just the exe's dll's or what haveyou

since you posted back so fast I wonder ,, how often they happen?
and if you can repet them by doing the same things,,

Meanwhile I dont know XP very well , so give it some time and those who do will get with..You post after posting what I asked for
Here is one of mine as an example(usualy there not much to worry about.
    Application Failure iexplore.exe 6.0.2800.1106 in mshtml.dll

I have no file on my computer named "dw.log ".

You asked how often I get this error. I get it everytime I use IE. Sometimes it closes down IE and sometimes it doesn't. I have had to install Netscape to use as a browser.

You mentioned that there should be more information provided. There is a link that I can click on when I get the error called "To view technical information about the error report, click here "

When I do that a gadzillion lines of information appear.

Sorry for the misinformation, "dw.log ". exists as far as I know one all win 9x systems I was hoping it would to on XP.

Till the XP people get with,, you can search (look around there is tons and tons of info here)

    And cleanup your PC
Even if your current av program is up to date and you Have run a full system SCAN ??? Have you ?
    also get one online scan
there are several to choose from,, stay away from your av's online as it would be possible the same

    So get a second opinion
also have you ran either SpyBot or Adaware Both have a free
version the second one mentioned being for beginners to intermediate PC user the first for advanced. I use them both.
