my hijack this log file, windows welcome screen loads slow

my computer (dell, with windows XP home edition) gets stuck at the welcome screen for a few mintues before proceeding to the desktop, i have almost no programs running at startup, therefore the actual startup is pretty quick except that the welcome screen stays there for a few minutes when it didn't used to before. before performing this scan i did all these: i did a spyware scan from microsoft spyware beta, spybot, and ad-aware SE, along with 2 diff programs to scan the registry, clearing of cookies and temp. internet files. and i defraggmented. so my log should be in pretty good shape to correct my problem

It may be a good idea to put HJT into it's own folder. It does make backups in case of a mistake, and the temp folder isn't really a good place for them.

Disable System Restore, and reboot. This is important to do this as deleted files will reappear otherwise.

You have a relatively clean log.

Rescan and remove these items.

I see nothing evil in the log but do notice a few things going on.
You have M$ and AOL's spyware programs running at the same time, it is unknown to me at this time if these conflict in any way. Given a choice between the two, I would go with M$ as I do not like AOL's software, but that's just my preference.
To disable AOL's, go into Msconfig, click on Services tab. Now put a checkmark in "Hide Microsoft services ", and you will find this easier.

AOL Spyware Protection Service

There is another entry for it under the Startup tab, you would need to uncheck this one, too.

The startup for M$'s spyware program is also under the Startup tab.

It would be a good idea to remove the following using HJT. It is a leftover from Norton you used to have, and you are using Mcaffee. It was starting up as a service to windows, and this would be about the time the Welcome screen is appearing. The file is missing, and may be looked for.

You should update your Sun Java VM. It is out of date, and has security holes. Uninstall and reboot before installing the updated version.

Is Sun Java VM the same thing as just "Java "? So, do you want me uninstalling what i have, and going to Java's website and downloading the new Java program? or is this "Sun Java" something different? It would also be great if you could provide me a link with exactly what i need, thx

Just download and install. No need to uninstall anything.

The Sun Java Virtual Machine is more secure than the MS JVM. It's what allows your computer to handle things written in Java.
