i have a computer that uses windows 98. when i would get on, the enter network password for microsoft networks would appear and id type in my name and password. now i can just get on without anything. it only comes on when i log off. ive tried the users, passwords and network feature to have it come on at startup but nothings working. its kind of like locking your house after the burglar has stolen everything. :) what can i do to fix this? also i never log off i just hit the shut down when i want to get off.

    problem solved

when i restored the computer the password prompt comes on at startup like it used to. so maybe there was a glitch somewhere that messed it up. so now everything is right as rain until something else goes haywire. i hope not as im getting tired of restoring this computer. :)

Right click on the "Neighborhood Network" icon on your desktop.

you are probably right that something got switched. knowing me i probably goofed something up but none the less its back and working fine. with this computer my motto is if it aint broke and working fine dont touch it! :) besides it gets really tiresome having to completely restore stuff and update everything. now so far,so good. the computer is behaving itself. :)
