    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Would you please post some further details ....

    Desktop or Laptop?

Description of how the computer got wet - indicate the amount of liquid involved and which part of the computer got wet.

How long ago did this happen? - placing the computer in a heated cupboard (airing cupboard) for a day or so should dry it out, but with no guarantee that it will still work.

Water and electronics do not mix and it is quite likely that permanent damage has been done, but without more detail it is not possible to advise further on a course of action.

Check your insurance to see if accidents like this are covered.

Time is your best friend here. But, if you powered up while it was still wet, more damage could have happened.

Pete, you'd need to know HOW much water or liquid - teacup - shower of rain - flood?
Bill, From the tenure of the question - I wonder if it was wipe the outside and switch on to see if it works.
Far more detailed info required. Neil.
