Musicmatch on an external drive

I have an external HD which I use to store my MP3s (over 4000). I normally have this HD connected to my home PC which is in turn connected to my home stereo system. It's a wonderful setup.
I also use the external drive with my laptop when I go camping or to BBQs to provide the music through my car stereo with portable speakers. Another sweet setup.
I'll soon be using a 3rd computer to do small-time DJ work at schools and private parties.
    Now my question is....
Since my music collection is always changing, it's a pain to keep updating my Musicmatch library on each computer. It would be much easier to install Musicmatch on my external, and just run the program from there since the library would be updated automatically when I add or subtract MP3s.
On my home PC the external is labeled as drive G... on my laptop its drive E and so on. If I run the program from the external on my PC, it will be looking for files on drive G... then I switch to the laptop, it will still be looking for files on drive G, which doesnt exsist on that computer.. which would cause a problem. So... If I install Musicmatch on the external, is there a way to configure the program to look for the MP3s on that drive, even though the drive designation letter changes for each computer?

    Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks.... Hammer

    Hammer,

I don't think installing MM on your external hard drive is going to get you anywhere. It will behave the same way as when it is installed on your internal hard drive.
Probably the best solution would be to install MM on your laptop and your 'DJ' computer, then you can set the 'Watch Folder' option (found in the Options menu -> Music library) to scan and update the libraries automatically when you open MM with the external hard drive attached. HTH
