    Netscape 6.2 always opens a new browser window when I double-click a web page on my hard drive, Navigator 4.7 always re-used the the one browser window.Can Netscape 6.2 be altered to act like 4.7?
    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Hi Greg, and welcome to the Forum!

    You can open a local file in Netscape 6.2.1, without creating a second window by using File|Open, then browse to the file on your HD.

    HTH,

    Just stumbled on this information

    Hi Greg,

    This is a line your can add to your Netscape 6.2.1 prefs.js file, located in:
    C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\UserName\xxxxxxxx.slt

    Prevent web pages from opening new windows - this applies to all websites:
    user_pref( "capability.policy.default.Window.open ", "noAccess ");
