    I have a PtP network.
    A shared folder '\\WS01\dacpos'
    \\WS01 is Win2000 SP4
Mapped to drive T:\ on three other computers
    \\WS02 , \\WS03 , \\WS04 ; all of which are WinXP SP3

All PC's have the same logon and password (admin privilages)
but I can only connect to T:\ on two PC's at a time and I need to be able to sign in at least 6. [Below is the error I am getting]

If the user names are all the same - looks like you need to change some of them.

These PC's are only used for one application by many people. There is no security risk and not everyone is going to remember a user id and password. I really need to keep the user id and pwd the same across the board.
Is there any way I would be able tokeep one id/pwd and be able to connect to the share with more than 2 PC's??

I doubt it, but lets move this to the Network forum, maybe people have other ideas.

Why do they need to remember a user name - XP by default remembers the last logged in name. You could create user accounts based on computer name - so each computer has a log on account (e.g. computer1, computer2). All the log ons have the same password.

However, a far better solution is to create a simple convention for user names. initial of first name and surname is typical. So Joe Smith would jsmith. Do the people on your network have problem remembering their surnames?

This is what I opted for. ws01,ws02,ws03, etc...

Make no assumptions about the intelligence of users, they will let you down every time.

    Thanks All.

You are giving the suggestion these 6 computers can be run open per password security. One of two suggestions ...

Have 1 account on each computer, the way you want it (and Widows network rules agree with you - will probably have to be different for each computer) and set it to Auto log when computer starts up. Disable screen saver/user timeout requirement to "Log back on / lock out ".
    (OR)
Set up "each computer" with a unique user/password - or the same user/password (can Windows have 6 identical username/passwords active simultaneously on a network ?? - network error message appears to limit to two) AND post on a card attached to monitor all the user/password login info requirements.
