Some Office updates will be re-offered to you again & again. Other can cause weird 'side' issues.

    "Involved" are KB2817630, KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583

KB2817630 (Office 2013) has been pulled off WU (AFAIK).

KB2810009 (Access 2007/2010/2013) is also mentioned on some web sites, I've been unable to confirm any problems with it.

Will post more info when it becomes available.

Thanks... Member on another site was asking for help on this very subject and mentioned 2 out of 3 that you mentioned.

Yes - same experience here

Installed Updates shows them installed 2x - for the moment they are hidden in WU.

On my dual boot system, the updates are listed (in the Control Panel, Add/Remove or what it is called in English) as installed but are reoffered.

On Windows 7 + Office 2007, all three of them but on Windows XP + Office XP with the Compatibility Pack, only KB2760411 and KB2760588.

Doesn't that indicate a detection problem but the updates have been installed?

    Same here, too.

Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2760588)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB2760583)
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2760411)

At first I thought something was amiss with Secunia and Microsoft update - to the point I thought my OS was corrupted. I did a system restore and shut down Secunia for now.

I had the same thing happen with a security update for Office 2003.

Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB2810048)

I hid the update after I realized that it had already successfully installed.

WU shows they are installed successfully TWICE!!!

I ran Belarc Advisor which shows all 3 were downloaded ONCE today (12/09/2013) successfully.

There is also another WU notification saying those 3 Important updates are ready to install AGAIN???

I think I might hide them as Evan has done. Neil.

Doesn't it take Belarc about 48 hours before one can tell if security updates installed correctly?

Microsoft have revised MS13-067, 72, 73, and 74 to address installation issues.

See post by the official blog of the Office Sustained Engineering and Release team

According to recently updated Belarc definitions, I am missing the same three updates that I posted earlier...

Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2760588)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB2760583)
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2760411)

Windows / Microsoft update and Secunia both say all is well.

If you're in any way concerned, don't rely on any 3rd party product.

Check the MSKB articles of the updates concerned. They will list the files and their attributes that are involved, so check them to see if the update is installed.

I cured the problem by sitting on my hands. From this morning, the updates are no longer reoffered.

Windows is not offering the updates anymore, but I will read the KB documentation.

Interestingly, just ran Belarc Advisor and it now shows KB2760411/KB2760583/KB276588 as Failed and that I need to re-install them.

I think I'll wait until things stabilize at MS WU. Neil

Same here, too, but I think the error was on Belarc's part. I just opened the program, and it fetched new definitions / updates to address the issue. Belarc is now giving me a passing grade.
