Is anything to be gained by deleting 3 of the 4 listings of default monitor in the device manager of my laptop? The machine seems to be acting ok-nice and quick, but I'm wondering if it can be further improved.
Conversly, will I harm anything by getting rid of the redundand listings?
I've seen this quite often, on quite a number of machines, and wonder if this is not a byproduct of upgrading the drivers for the video card. Thanks.

If it ain't broke don't fix it :)

Doubt it would do any harm, but you may find them reinstalled on a reboot (see below).

My HP laptop shows 3 Plug and Play monitors too - never linked up another monitor, but it is often linked up to digital projectors - never the same one as I travel around giving Photoshop demos to camera clubs.

Uninstalling all three and rebooting reinstalled all 3 :)

The presence of 3 monitors may be the result of the monitor options available through the Fn key - laptop monitor > Laptop + external monitor > external monitor.
