Resolved Multiple copies of same email in Thunderbird inbox

Helping a friend who has latest Thunderbird. Gets many copies of the same email from his frontier acct. Sometimes a dozen or more copies. There's only one copy of these various emails in frontier's outbox. Deleted the .msf folders but still doing it. Set the integer setting to 1 in config editor...still not deleting duplicates.

 

No one run into this before?

 

Well, not with Thunderbird, but I occasionally keep getting multiple copies of same mail with Eudora 1.4.3 on my Win 3.1/DOS6.0 computer. But not that many, just two or three copies of same mail. Dozen, or more would surely be annoying. Unfortunately, I have no idea what causes that with Thunderbird, or some other e-mail client.

If the above doesn't help, I would install Windows Live Mail and see if the issue duplicates itself.

Is that a typo? Don't you mean inbox instead?

 

Yes, I meant Frontier wasn't the cause of sending out multiple copies. It had only one copy of each msg in its inbox and then multiples came into Thunderbird.

 

Have removed aand reloaded Thunderbird and isn't doing it anymore. thanks
