I have been using Mulberry for a couple of months now and Netscape Mail on a second PC.

Mulberry has a "curious complexity" that fascinates me with is features as it infuriates me with its eccentricities!

In Mulberry I like the true multiple identities that can be tied to particular folders. I like the ability manually to choose where to save a copy. I like spell as you type and send in the background. I would not use Mulberry unless I had a broadband connection as it does not have a usable cache in online mode and downloads headers afresh every time.

I look forward to multiple identities and spell as you type n Netscape/Mozilla/Thunderbird.

On the question of sending in the background - am I missing something in Netscape? Must I wait till the "sending Message" pane goes before continuing?

You could download tinySpell, spell checker that checks spelling on the fly anywhere you are typing. Gives a number of "views / hotkeys options" to interact with the program/dropdown list. Includes "add / delete to the dictionary. For myself, when program "beeps" means I have a spelling mistake. I hotkey, "select word list pops up ", hit enter key, corrected. Very rarely do I have to toggle down the list to find the correct word.

I, personally, like spellcheck as I go. I know how to spell, but I am, often careless, and I don't care to proofread.
I think that the Mozilla/Netscape is atrocious, but it is good for a laugh. It is too slow, unless I don't know how to use it.
I think that Mozilla-based mail is easy to set up. As for the sending question, I wait. The only time that I have to do that is if include attachments. My wife keeps telling me that I should stretch once in a while. I do that when I start Netscape/Mozilla and if I send mail with attachments.

Depending on attachment size, connection speed, and AV option to scan outbound mail is going to add time to the send. N7.0 / Norton AV/2003 does this task in "background " and allows immediate control back to email client... no real wait or lag time.
