System: Windows 98SE. IE 6. OE 6. Google on title bar.
Problem: Despite having selected a blank page to begin with when opening IE, MSN takes over and fills the page with, well, let us say...stuff. Even though I type in the address as quickly as possible, for example, www.windows bbs.com, it still comes out MSN. How may I have a blank page as my initial default. I do not object to a title such as <blank page>. Appreciate advice. Thank you.

    - Open notepad.
    - Save the blank page to your hard drive as blank.htm with notepad set to use all file types.
    - Double check to make sure *%&#@^ notepad really did name it blank.htm rather than blank.htm.txt. If if did, rename to blank.htm
    - Set this as your homepage.

Have looked at the references you suggested. Some are beyond my skills, for example, working in the registry. In any event, seem to have worked around the problem with slight extra effort, and I thank you ever so much.
