MSN spywear cleaner

Received spywear cleaner today from ms so I loaded it and ran it. Turns out I have to pay the spy cleaner $49.00 to register to remove the spywear. Has Micropsoft hit new low? Cannot remove it from my computer and it is working slower then hell since loading it. Has Microsoft gone completelt bonkers? Any ideas how to remove this useless program?

Thank you to all for offering help. Seems I Had an infected copy and after much efford was able to remove it.

 

What exactly is the name of the program you downloaded? If you downloaded Microsoft AntiSpyware it should be free. Is this what you downloaded?

What you downloaded was something on that list or something like it.
