ever since i have got a new computer and set up a LAN with one other computer i have had problems signing in with msn messenger. This computer is the gateway for the other computer to acess our dial-up internet connection. MSN messenger wasnt working for a long time but i eventually got it to work after following many steps, changing settings like the automaticially configure LAN settings in IE. Recently the gateway to the internet has stopped working, and so has my msn messenger - even if the other computer isnt on. I'm not sure is this has anything to do with version of Kerio Personal Firewall4 trial period recently expiring, which disables some options.
Homtail is still working and I can sign in to webmessenger, but whenever i try to sign in to msn messenger 6.2 it gives me the error 81000370. I am using windows XP SP2, and firefox pr1 for browsing. What does 81000370 mean?
    any help would be appreciated
    -thanks.

What is the exact wording of the entire error message you get with the 81000370?

    msn wording

A message box just comes up saying "There was a problem connecting you to MSN Messenger. Click Troubleshoot for help with this problem ". In the bottom-left corner it has the error-code.
When i click troubleshoot it says it can't do it so I should try again later.

Since MSN Messenger is a separate download, just go to Add or Remove Programs in your Control Panel, and remove it. Then re-download & re-install.

i've tried re-installing it many times, but nothing changes. Thats why I think it is something else affecting it so I want to re-install everything relating to it.
    I guess maybe i should re-install windows..
