MSN Messenger asking for updates

    There are two machines I look after both of which have started showing the same problem. When the users try to open MSN Messenger they are told there is a newer version and cannot run the software. They are both running 6.2 already and I have re-installed from the website just in case but it does no good.

    One machine is a w2k SP4 which was running messenger ok until recently, the other is a newly built XP sp2 on which messenger has never worked.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Yes, you have to get the update. Its a security update, and as you notice, you won't be able to run MSN Messenger without installing it.
