MSN messenger 4.7 and 6.2

    I have upgraded from the old Messenger to 6.2 but when i start my PC the old version loads, even though I have removed it in add/remove windows components, and the new version also loads?

    Can anyone inform me how to "completely" uninstall the old version and just load the new version?

    I would make sure they're not running in task manager and delete the entire messenger folder. Open regedit to HKLM and HKCU software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run and delete the msn messenger entries. Reboot.
    Then run RegSeeker or any other good registry cleaner to remove as many of the registry entries as possible. Reboot and reinstall 6.2
