How do I delete items listed under Microsoft Mail Shared Folders in Outlook? These folders alre taking up about 325meg of space on the server, and quite frankly we have no need of them. However, when I try and delete them, I get an error message saying I don't have permission, or that a parameter is invalid. Any ideas?

Are we talking about the MS Mail Workgroup Post Office, MS Exchange, or a combination?

The first option, included in WinNT Control Panel. We use a completely different program (VPOP3) for managing internet e-mail.
I have noted that I can delete the folders by logging in to the server's mailbox, but what am I deleting? Am I deleting a folder that exists only in "Microsfot Mail Shared Folders ", or am I actually deleting folders from someone's mailbox , or some combination of the 2?

Ryder - your question is what prompted me to ask mine. Two possiblilties for the term "shared folders" depending on what system you use mostly.

    - Someone has shared an email folder just as you would a normal folder. In that case, you would be deleting their email folder.

    - Public folder set up so anyone on your mail system (or anyone with rights depending on the version) can work with email stored there.

My guess would be that you are dealing with public folders since some of the MS Mail versions made it confusing to a novice user and they would set up a public folder thinking they were setting up a local one.

A check of the folder contents should give you a pretty good idea of exactly what you are looking at though.
