    Hi all!

I seemed to have done something to my computer. Now when I turn it on or reboot it is says some things can't be done because msjet35.dll is not there. It also says that I should try and reinstall it. I wish I could but I have no idea how. I did a system restore dated back to when I didn't have this problem but it says it cannot do a restore because no changes have been made. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? I am not very compatible with computers so I hope this can be an easy enough fix that I can do.

    Thankyou so much! :)

Did you do a search to see if you still have the dll onboard (probably @ "C:\WINDOWS\system32 ")? If you do, it may have become unregistered. To re-register, go to its location, right click on it & hit "Open with... ". In the "Windows" dialog box, pick "Select the program from a list ", then in the "Open With" box, hit "Browse" & look up "regsrv32.exe" (in "C:\WINDOWS\system32 "). You'll probably have to hit the "Up One Level" button (the folder W/the green arrow) to get to "Computer ". Once there, left click "C ", then "WINDOWS ", then "system32 ", then find "regsrv32.exe ". Clicking it should bring back the "Open With" box, where you should select "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" & hit "OK ". That should do it.

If, however, "msjet35.dll" is not on your machine, you can find dll files for download on the net but, having had a very bad experience doing this, I wouldn't recommend it. If you can find someone you trust who has it on their machine & is willing to send you a copy, you're set. Toss it into "C:\WINDOWS\system32" and register it.

(There's a cool free program called "Reg - Unreg This DLL" from http://www.programmersheaven.com/zone16/cat633/30729.htm that puts "Register This DLL" & "UnRegister This DLL" on your Right Click Context Menu if you want to save some hassle.)

I hope this helps. (And please feel free to ask for clarification if you have any difficulties ... sometimes I even confuse myself!)

    From here
If you have MS Office installed with Access you should try a Repair - Help Menu > Detect and Repair

Alternatively download from here - 1 Mb

USER...I did as you said and it said windows cannot open the requested program as it doesn't know where it is coming from. Whatever that means. I don't think I have Microsoft Office or at least I never put it on my computer. The computer did come with Microsoft Works and I know I removed Microsoft Money and this is when my trouble began. Not sure what to do now.

    Thanks for all your help!

I am not sure if you looked at the I link provided, but if you do, and download
Jet35sp3.exe and install it, you would have msjet35.dll back.

Markp62..I went to the lkink you posted and downloaded the jet35sp3.exe. I restarted my computer and did not get that box saying that my msjet35 was missing. I think the problem is fixed or at least I hope it is. I will try a couple other things that didn't work before and see if I'm back on track.

Thankyou so much for your help! :)
