    Hi All,

Has anybody tried a MB from MSI?......Are they made well, and how do they stackup to Asus & others?

Just built a computer with a K8N Neo 2 Platinum motherboard and it works very well. With MSI update its easy to update the drivers, BIOS and other MSI software. They seem well made and come with all the cables etc.

Did it set you back much?

I have an MS-6738 with a 1.73 GHz. AMD processor.

I like their support......Especially the "Live Update" tool.

My board works well with XP, but it ran into problems with 98se....I guess the newer boards are more geared for the newer OS's?

The board cost me $195 CDN which is about $160 US. So far the MSI boards are pretty good and the quality seems on par with Asus. There was one little glitch with at the beginning though. We could not get our USB dsl modem to work with it. It turned out to be a driver isssue that was solved by downloading the latest from nvidia.

I bought mine from a friend who has a computer repair business. He sold it to me for $65.00....All total, I paid $253.00 for the case, power supply (500 W), processor, 256mb memory stick, & MB.

These items were slightly used, but I think I did OK for what I got.

As far as the board not working right with 98se.....The onboard video seemed to be the problem.
