    Hi all,

I have recently noticed a EXTREMELY LARGE change in my Window's Me PC performance  .

(I have read other forums and stuff about it and haven't yet found a solution)

When I was minding my own business, about a week ago, (while on the Internet) I received an error popping up frequently saying Wuauboot has caused an error in <unknown>. (however I think I fixed this part of the issue)
Now, (more fun  ) I noticed my ISP (Walmart Connect) keep going idle. I hit control+alt+Del. and it said Msgsrv32 [not responding].
    That happens SO frequently.
I also notice if I use the start menu to goto My Documents, or Control Pannel, my Task bar 'freezes'. Once, I let it sit and after a while (long time) it unfroze itself.
Also, when I go to Shut Down (or Restart) my computer stands idle for 15 secs to 1 min. and then says A Program Is Not Responding, and I hit End Now.
I have also noticed my McAfee Anti virus Program popping up a message at start saying it isn't installed properly (or something to that relevant) and it says reinstall it, however after a fresh reboot, it says its fine.
The same thing has happened with my scanner, except, it isn't fixing itself.
And recently when I inserted the disk, the computer sat idle and did not load the program.
Also, a program (Windows Related?) called Bwdelay has quit responding at times.
    Well thats so far.
I use a HP Pavilion XT853 (April 2001unit) with A (Intel) Pentium III @ 853 (I think) MHz with 127 MB RAM, and Approx. 30 GB HD. It came to me as a refurbished unit 2002? to replace an older PC that was declared a lemon.
I DO have a system recovery program that came with the unit however.
I have also had to use it about at the beginning of this summer to to a VERY large amount of Adware invaded my PC (Virtual Bouncer, CWS-NS3, ect.) and Basically crashed it. But I did the option to leave everything on the hard drive (and replace the critical). I have NOT did a Windows Update since i did this (Well, I should say Summer 03' the last).

Can someone please help my computer return to its original form (with out another recovery)

Note: I followed the steps for fixing the Wuauboot error earlier today. Also, I have the same symptoms as what it says on Microsoft's website, HOWEVER I do Not use a Palm (or own one). Thanks.

I would say you have a virus, it is stopping Windows Automatic Updates (Wuauboot), and corrupting your MacAffee.
Bwddelay is part of Backweb, it can be spyware or not, depending on what application installed it.
Go to Housecall, online AV scan.
Download SpyBot Search & Destroy, install and update it, then close it. Then reopen and Search for Problems with it.

    Possible conclusion?

    Hi everyone.
Thank you Markp62 for your comments. However I have Not been able to do either of what you said because I cannot get my dial up to stay connected for more than 15 min, due to the issue.
I did read somewhere, on Msgsrv32, their might be something up with a MIDI file code? I did notice, I have recently before all these errors have been using MIDI files A LOT. I started to notice, Windows Media Player would lock up at times when I play MIDI files, right before the errors came along.
    Can this help any?
I do have spysweeper and it said I had the following adware: CWS_NS3, and Apropos, for a side note, and it is quartinating all the adware.

    Any help?
    ~Winmeuser~ :)

You could download HijackThis, it should only take a minute to download. Unzip to it's own folder, and open it. Then click on "Do a System Scan and save a logfile ", this log will appear in Notepad. Copy and Paste the entire thing on here.
Msgsvr32 errors can be difficult to pinpoint, as several things can depend on it.
In the meantime, you could disable Bwddelay from startup, it isn't system critical.

    I give up.

My McAfee poped up when I tried to open it saying 'A virus has been detected and Cleaned'. It said some file ending in .worm!p2p or something like that was downloaded and the entire application was deleted. I give up. I guess, and hate it, but I guess a system recovery is nessiassary (I got a disk with the PC). Any suggestions? Winmeuser.
