a friend was all of a sudden unable to connect to the internet.

I did a restore to a previous date, then it worked. I downloaded the
updates for adaware and spybot and ran them and got that stuff off
his drive. I noticed when going through msconfig that there were 2 entries
that had no description. And, of course, the reg key is incomplete as displayed
so i cant get at it that way. Any suggestions ? should i delete them or if
not how can i find out what they are ?

    Thanks in advance:)
oh BTW it's XP home on a systemax ? computer.

Those blank entries can usually be identified and removed via the registry at one of the following locations.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If unsure which ones to remove, export the keys to a text file and post them here, or post a HijackThis log.

Just to make sure, install Autoruns, and it may show you more.
