When I go into the StartUp Tab of MSConfig I see an item which does not have a description in the Startup Cloumn nor in the Command Column. However, it does have the following description in the Location Column: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I have never seen this item before. Is it something that needs to be there? How can I remove it if it shouldn't be there?

I have a feeling that this item is causing me problems where I am experencing a time delay between 3 to 6 seconds from the time I tape a key and until the letter character appears on the screen.

My machine is a Acer 3000 Laptop.

Your guess is as good as our guess... You can go to the registry location you mentioned to see if there's anything else there that might shed some light.

Hi bizman1233. To open the Registry Editor click Start > Run and type regedit then hit enter. The Registry Editor will open.

    Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Once you highlight the Run key you will see a list of start up items. Find the entry you want to remove and delete it.

Alternatively you can download and run the program Autoruns which will show you every startup item on your computer. It will allow you to delete the entry using the program without having to go into the registry.

When you open the program click the Logon Tab which will show you the startup items.
