MSCONFIG error

Hi all,

I recently removed 3 unwanted Start Up programs using MSCONFIG. Now, everytime I restart the computer, MSCONFIG wants me to restart again. It could go on forever, restarting and restarting.

This is a new computer, I've had it less than a month. What can I do about this situation?

When you uncheck startup items in msconfig, on restart you get a message window telling you that you are in selective startup mode and msconfig opens; that is so that you can change things back if you wish. There is a box one can check on that message window (can't remember the exact words). If you are happy with the changes, check the box on that message, and on restart you will be back in normal mode and msconfig will not open.

 

gail22--The box to which JRosenfeld refers is at the bottom left of that message box. You just need to check it and then OK.
You should then be able to use your PC normally--perhaps after some final loading of Windows, etc.. You will not have to reboot and you should not see that message again until you make another change to Msconfig Startup.
