I am a retired English teacher (so yes, I'm old). I'm from the Midwest (Illinois) and taught here in a small community for 30 years, but since I retired, I have traveled many interesting places.

I have questions at times about a program, and this seemed the place to have them answered.

Thank you, Pete. Yours is one of my favorite countries that I have visited. Of course, I had to see where Shakespeare and many other great English writers lived, and then I went on up to Scotland and saw where my grandfather was born (Grangemouth) and visited several places Robert Burns (my favorite poet) lived. I am always happy when I can communicate easily with the people of the country. Doris

And I must say that the States is my favourite country in the pursuance of my other hobby/passion of monochrome landscape photography - see www.monolandscapes.talktalk.net.

Have visited 9 times since '96 - California, Nevada, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona & Colorado and travelling to Yellowstone and the Tetons this coming fall and hopefully Yosemite and Death Valley - yet again! - next February.

Love the landscape, especially the wilderness areas, the people and the way of life!
