Am really a newbie. Really have 2 problems here.
I've done something, I think, to my normal.doc template. When I open some of my doc files and try to close them I get msg. regarding changes to normal.doc then after I close again, office assistant says "Save changes to normal.doc?" I always say no but same thing next time I open those files. What have I done? All this closing is driving me nuts.
2nd problem also Word. Almost everytime I open Word and close I get error msg. "Word has cause an error in User32.dll. Word will now close" which is what I want but this is driving me crazy too!
    I know I should quit messing with things but . . .

Dont know what version of Office you have but it has a repair feature. Open a new document, click help, detect and repair. You will probably need the installation disk. Post back good or bad.

If that doesnt work properly, you can put in the installation disk, and I believe it will also give the option for detect and repair.

    Word Problems

:) Thanks for posting. I have Office 2000. Had already done detect and repair. Fixed the normal.doc thing w/ new docs but doesn't fix my old docs that are broken. Shall I just delete them and start over? I am doing detect and repair again though just in case I missed something first time.
Also doesn't seem to fix the User32.dll thing. Did get a post on another forum that led me to a MS fix for kind of same thing. Haven't tried the fix yet as it's six printed pages and not exactly the same error msg. Getting pretty desperate though will probably give it a try today!
Once again, thanks. Just found forum. Think its gonna be the best thing since sliced bread for a nooooobie like me!
