MS Security Essentials Turns Off

    Every time I boot up I get a security alert that virus protection is turned off. It corrects itself after a minute, but I wonder if this is normal or correctable.

    Ken,
    I don't think that's unusual, I get the same thing sometimes. At first I got the visual warning box but after a while it just stopped appearing.
    I use WinPatrol and have put it into the delayed start box and the warning doesn't appear now.

    MSE won't fully activate until connected to the LAN. It will remain "red" in the system tray until an active Internet connection is detected.
