Been running Office 2007 for a number of years. Decided to try the the new versions. In my opinion, they new versions, especially Outlook, is the most bloated software I have ever tried. One could spend hours to get it to a point where it's the way I want to use it. Incredibly crowded screen, too many tool bars and functions most will never use. In comparison, Outlook 2007's simple screen, minimal tool bars and only necessary functions to send and receive email.

If you ask why Office 2007 instead of a free email app it's because I was given a freebee years ago and I find it to be more useful than the free ones.

There is a simple solution to this, use Windows Live mail. I don't like Outlook either.

Bumping a thread here, but I have used both Outlook 2003 and 2007 (part of an Office suite), and for security sake, I guess I'll have to upgrade next year. I like Outlook, but have never tried the later versions.

Any Outlook recommendations? Do you have any screenshots of these newer versions?

James - you might as well get the most recent version of Office... There have been some cosmetic changes and more features added but you shouldn't have any problems using a newer version since you are familiar with the older ones.

    Thanks, Steve.

While in school, I had the opportunity to take a course in MS Office 2007, and I learned a lot, albeit we never touched on Outlook strange enough.
