My MS Mouse works fine through one of the USB ports in my Natural Keyboard Pro but I can't get my flatbed scanner (Canon) to work. My scanner works fine when I plug it into the USB port on the back of my PC but those ports are already full with my keyboard and my Internet modem. Should I try buying a USB hub or will I probably have the same problem? The keyboard says that the USB ports are for low powered hardward like a mouse. Is my flatbed scanner too needy on power? Any help would be appreciated.

You have Modem, Scanner, and Keyboard/Mouse combination...Not enough holes....You need to get a hub.:)

Here is something else to muddy the waters with.

There is another choice if you ever buy a new device that is USB v2.0 ready. There are PCI cards available for making your computer USB2.0 ready. They are v1.1 backward compatable and provides you with 4 more USB slots. Here is a good place to read about it.

I would second the suggestion in the last post and recommend a USB 2 PCI card.

These cards come in several flavours giving you the choice of an extra 2 or 5 USB 2 connections.

You will find that your scanner and other devices will run much faster.
