Yeah, they are listening. It takes awhile to turn that juggernaut around, but it is happening. The issue now is whether Microsoft gets into the issues that caused them nightmares before - users failing to keep their systems patched and updated in a timely basis which then results in computers getting infected when an available patch would have prevented it. And that's a problem for Microsoft because the bashers and wannabe journalists in the IT Press love to blame Microsoft for those issues - even when it is the badguys, and users failing to keep their systems updated that is the real problem. Time will tell.

    IMHO they got that covered:
So presumably after 35 days you can no longer prevent an update from installing.

So yea, there will be a window of 'opportunity' for unpatched systems, but it won't be as bad as in the old days when lots of people never updated.

For Windows 10 Home as well or do they still think those users are idiots?

It may seem they think them as idiots, but I'm pretty sure that is not the reason why Home users have fewer options and less control. I think the purpose of Home is to provide a less expensive option for those who don't want to pay extra for Pro. And I see nothing wrong with that. It is just less expensive to support a product that has fewer options and settings that can be changed by the end user. If a feature has two user settings, for example, both settings have to be tested. If the feature has a fixed single setting, only that one setting needs to be tested. It is just a matter of economics.
Yeah, well it is not really the users getting infected that concerns me. It is the domino effect where the MS haters and bloggers, and some in the IT Press will falsely blame MS for any compromises. Then those false claims go viral resulting in many who fail to do their homework believing those falsehoods. They then parrot those falsehoods over and over again for more to believe. And that then could result in Microsoft swinging the pendulum the other way once again and locking our systems down again. Because for sure, they would rather get blamed for not allowing flexibility than getting falsely blamed for poor security.
