Whilst using XL when moving the cursor (ie tabing) accorss cells the cursor is always lagging behind. For example entering data into certain cells you type in the figure then tab accross to the next cell then enter the data then tab accross, etc, etc, and the cursor is still 3 or 4 cells behind. The machine is a P4 and usually only 1 or 2 other app running - Outlook and Word maybe. There is now problem with enough Mem and all other apps work ok..ie no slow processing...could this be an XL issue...seems to be getting worse...any help please....

Probably nothing to do with the app itself.

Say what OS and you'll get suggestions for a cleanup/speedup for your PC.

Mouse batteries or mouse driver ?
Does this happen only in XL ?
What is the effect of copying the XL app to another folder,
deleting the original and the copying the copy back to the original location ?
    regards

In control panel under Mouse, check your settings. I use the "snap to" feature, which automatically puts your cursor in the default location. I don't use Excel often, but I use an accounting program that enters data in fields in a similar way, and when the "snap to" is off, I get a lag, too.
