    Hi,

I have been scratching my head over this one all day and I can't seem to find a cure.....hoping that someone has come across this before and can point me in the right direction.

    PC, P4 2.5G, 256Mb RAM, W2K SP3

I have an old MS-DOS application that I run under the NTVDM. However when I start this application using a standard AUTOEXEC/CONFIG.NT and a basic PIF file the processor utilization hit 100%. Checking the processes in task manager the NTVDM is using 99%, this only drops when I exit the dos application. I am sure I have seen this before with EDIT.COM on previous Windows versions but my mind has gone blank.

    Any ideas would be great!

    Cheers
    Rob

I'd give a try at setting the shortcut for Win95 compatibility mode and see if that helps.

If all else fails and you really need to run the app, try http://www.tamedos.com/ - not free at around $20 for the TameDOS app but it will usually make a DOS app behave politely.
