    Hi,

I'm using MS Backup on Windows 2003 standard in unmanaged mode to (try to) backup data from drives C: and D:.
The backup won't finish, it saves data from C: with no problem then starts with DATA from D: and stops with message "failed to mount media. operation aborted ".
I can't understand why it stops with that error in the middle of the backup.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Thomas.

What do you have on that drive?

Drive C: is the system drive right?

There maybe files in use when the backup is trying to execute.

    Hi,

Yes the system is on drive C:, but I don't backup the whole drive, only some data folders on it. The problem really seems to appear when NT Backup switches to drive D:, it looks like it's another processing for each drive.
Anyway on W2K3 with shadowing, busy files are not a problem for backup.
I use exactly the same command with data from drives C: and D: on a windows 2000 server, and that works fine ! I can't understand what's happening on 2k3...
