MS ACCESS 97 on Windows XP

Is ACCESS 97 compatible with Windows XP?
I uninstalled MS Office 2000, installed MS ACCESS 97, and then installed all of MS Office 2000 (except for ACCESS) to a different drive. I did Windows and Office updates. I rebooted several times. When I try to open ACCESS 97, I get the message: "Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine. "

 

Access97 will run on XP although if you have the newer version, it would probably be a better bet. But your error is not a versionitis issue.

I suspect you also really need to run the various updates to that version. You need to apply SR-1 and then SR-2.
