MP3's play back too fast

    In need of assistance,

    Intermediate computer user downloads MP3's from winmx and when playing them via any MP3 player (winamp for example) playback is too fast, sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

    When just using d: for normal Cd playback, all is OK.

    Any thoughts?
