What version are you using? Are you using more then one outgoing server? Did you just start having this problem after using T'bird for awhile? Really need a little more info, please.

How do I tell what version-- where do I find that info?? Using only one server. I'm not very advanced but if you tell me where to find things I can do that.

have been using Thunerbrd for a while - just started happening 2-3 days ago. I can receive emails from others but can't respond b/c they don't get the reply and can't send new ones b/c they don't get them.

    Thanks,
    Joan

Click on Help then About Thunderbird. Box opens telling you about your version.

Make sure you firewall and other antimalware are not blocking your outbound. Also, click on tools, account settings, and outgoing server. Do you know what these settings are supposed to be? Are they right?

the firewall and virus software has always worked with it. i have not added any new software either. I turned off the firewal and the virus software to see if they were blocking the email from going out and nothing changed.

don't know anything about what the settings should be. I cked with road runner and they said I have a thunderbrd problem.

You could try to install a newer version. It should pick up your settings and preferences and stuff. Is this collecting Road Runner mail? Is TB saying the mail was sent?

I am rec'ing road runner mail to me and it is going out b/c it is not in the outbox.

I think i need to get some expert to come in to do the work of reinstallation b/c if the settings r not right I will lose everything. I use it for business.

I thought maybe you might know if I need to ck anything or heard of this problem before.

Whoa. I have developed the same problem about a week ago.

I am using TB 3.0.4 on a Win 7 system. Like JRCD I had been running TB on Roadrunner (using Brighthouse in Florida). I am using a secured wireless connection on an HP laptop. Incoming mail is fine, but I can't send (or reply) to anyone.

I am pretty sure the problem has something to do with the outgoing server setting and have tried changing the setup, but the only change I have seen is a message that the server does not accept Authentication . . . fine, but I am not using it.

I reallyu think its a RR problem. I am on the tamapabay.rr.com server, and I assume JRCDS is not.

How about a post of your outgoing settings?

Cal - was just about to sign off 4 the nite and saw your email. Yes I am on roadrunner in Melb, FL. on the east coast.

I have no idea how to fix this and I can't believe it just popped up with this problem 3 days ago.

I really don't know what to do. I guess I will have to call in a service person. I use this for business and I can't afford for this not to work to send emails to clients.
