Need some info about Mozilla mail.......when I click on Get Messages a box pops up that says: This Folder is being Processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages. Can someone tell me what this means and is there a way to stop it? Thank you.

    Netscape Mail, Folder Being Processed

I'm using Netscape 7.2, via Comast.net, and from time to time I get the "folder being processed" error.

I tried the tips given at http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/folderprocess.html but they don't work for me.

There are no .msf files in C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Netscape\NSB\Profiles, just two subdirectories, both recent, neither containing any MSFs.

I browsed to Comcast's Web site and see I have no files from "unkown "

So what do I do next?

    Welcome to the Forum, oldmaven!

    oldmaven,

The location of your MSF files is in the Mail Account folder located here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profile_name\*.slt\Mail\pop.isp_name.net

NOTE: These files are hidden by default.
    To see hidden files:
    1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options
    2. Click the View tab
    3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders
    4. Disable "Hide File Extensions for Known Files. "
    5. Click OK.

To search for files in the Application Data folder, go to Start | Search.
Under More Advanced Options select Search system folders, Search
Hidden Files and folders, and Search subfolders.
    ---

    The path you gave:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Netscape\NSB\Profiles

is for Netscape 8, as the NSB folder indicates.

Just to add to Ramona's post, there is no mail in NS8.x, so look for the correct path for your mail.
Secondly the mail is not likely to come from a sender called:Unknown, rather from a sender which is not known to you.
You can always open those e-mails, and see if the contents are wanted by you.
Doesn't Comcast have a Spam control. I have Cox, and their Spam Controls is blocking nearly 99% of unwanted mail. If you get a lot of spam, it is not so good, but after removing that address from circulation Spam has been down to about one message/month. And, i immediately report it, and, I have yet to get anything similar.
