    Hi all,

I have created a XPCOM component for Mozilla browsers.

And i extend the functionality to Firefox also. Here i need to register the XPCOM component with the Mozilla Firefox.

I did the following steps to register the XPCOM component.

    1) Copied the .dll and .xpt files to Firefox/components folder.

    2) Removed the existing compreg.dat & xpti.dat file from the components folder.

    3) Then invoked firefox.exe to regiter all the components in the components folder.

I see my component got registered in the compreg.dat file in the firefox/components directory and also in profiles directory.

But my component doesn't get xpcom-startup notifications rather.

Whether i am doing anything wrong ?

Please let me know the way to register a XPCOM component with Firefox.

    Thanks & Regards
    Raghavan

    Welcome to the Forum, svraghavan_s!

    svraghavan_s,

I certainly don't have the kind of programming experience to help you personally. However, I did a Google search for: Create Mozilla XPCOM component

The Search came back with some sites that I believe will be helpful, and hopefully answer some of your questions:

    Creating XPCOM Components

    mozIRegistry

    Creating XPCOM Components

    Creatiing XPCOM Components

There were many more similar subjects, on both creating, and registering the components. Also a FORUM for consulting with other XUL programmers.
