My experience has not been, exactly, positive. I have been using 1.5 nightlies, based on the 1.8b4 milestone, with no problem. 1.5 b1 is called 1.4, actually,, and two extentions which worked in the nightly did not work in it. 1.5b1, though installed in a separate directory, and being used with a different profile from 1.0.6, just replaced the 1.0.6 shortcut. Fortunately, 1.0.6 remained in place.
It was an easy decision to kick out the interloper, which is not secure, as well as the others. I don't recommend it, until 1.5 is fixed.

As posted elsewhere, I'm in no hurry to grab the "latest and greatest" incarnation of the browser/email standalones. What is the point? 1.0.6 works perfectly well and I see no security breaches. Besides, I've heard stories of extensions breaking and interfaces being messed. It's just not worth the aggravation. I'll wait a few weeks so they can sort out the glitches and extension writers can catch up. ;)

    James,

Good idea, as these Beta Version are not intended for the average end user. Waiting for the final release is always best!
