Mozilla Address Book Leaking

After converting from Netscape to Mozilla I rebuilt my address books, I have four. Only problem is when writing email using one, or another address list, the addresses I used in that email transfer over into the last address list I used before this one ...? It is a bother to keep going back to the other address list and deleting the duplicates. It seems Mozilla is trying to create a master address book (list). I thought I could have several address books (lists), Personal Address Book, Church Member Address Book, Genealogy Address Book, etc., etc.

You start out with Address Book, but then mention Address Lists several times, so we first need to clarify if this is happening with four Address Books, or four Address Lists...

In Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups | Addressing... Have you enabled Email address collection? If so, disable it.

Leaking Addresses

DUH.... that was it. I disabled Address Collection. I thought all of my address books were collecting but it was only one. I knew I could depend on you to solve my little problem. It took over an hour before I posted as I scoured all threads that I could find but could not find where my problem was not addressed.

BTW, in my "scouring" I did run across captjlddavis' "sticky" but couldn't find where it addressed my paricular problem. I keep forgetting how closely associated Netscape is with Mozilla. I did discover, however, all I ever wanted to know about address books but couldn't see the forest for the trees.

I see what you mean about my use of address books vs address lists. My use is obviously in error ... my reference is to books, not lists.
