According to MozillaZine, this new release includes Multiple Identity support for Mozilla Mail. Mozilla 1.7 will be replace 1.4x as the stable development baseline.

Some past news said the upcoming Netscape 7.2 will be based on Mozilla 1.7, and we are waiting for it.

    Mozilla 1.7

Great news! As far as Netscape 7.x is concerned, I'll opt for Mozilla. Why change if it's not broken?

Thanks, Ramona for the heads up.

    Labarum,

This is all I've seen from AOL:

Is the Netscape Browser Being Reborn or Just Stabilized?
    By Matt Hicks
    May 26, 2004

Written off for dead about a year ago, the forefather of Web browsers, Netscape Navigator, is being resuscitated in the coming months with an updated version. But whether it will mark a revival of the browser, or simply some life support, remains to be seen.

America Online Inc., which owns Netscape Communications Corp., is preparing a summer release of Netscape Navigator 7.2, an AOL spokeswoman confirmed with eWEEK.com.

    Mozilla 1.7

    FWIW:

As usual Mozilla 1.7 is living up to past versions & reputations! Installed (clean install) without a hitch and runs like gangbusters!

Hey AOL, we don't need no "stinkin' Netscape "!

    bookmarks

    Hi All,
I just installed Mozilla 1.7 and I was wondering if there is a way to have my bookmarks like in IE on the left side of the screen, ready to click on. In Mozilla I have to go to bookmarks and then to imported favorites and any other folders.
    Any help is appreciated.

You can grab a favorite and drag it to your personal toolbar, as in IE, but you can make a folder in the toolbar and place favorites in the folder.

If you right click on a favorite and choose "Properties" you can rename the favorite and assign a shortcut to it.

For example my London Times favorite I have renamed "Tm" -so it takes up a tiny space on the toolbar. I have assigned a shorcut "tm" - so if I type tm at the top of the browser the times Site loads.
