    For some reason the startup page in the mozilla mail does not stay. I check the box and put in my start page address and it works ok as long as I don't quit the application, but everytime I bring up mozilla mail the start page location is again empty. Where do I go to save it, so that it will start up each time I start up mozilla mail??

    Thanks,

    Marvin:confused:

    Hi Marv6,

    Is this where you are changing the settings?

    Edit|Preferences|Mail & Newsgroups
    Mail Start Page

    What are you trying to use for a startup page?

    Hi Marvin,

    I run Mozilla 1.4a, and I added the http://home.netscape.com/ link as the Mail & Newsgroup Start Page. I opened and closed Mozilla multiple times and each time the Preference was retained. I'm not sure why your Preference is not being retained???

    After the adding the startup page, I now see this Preference in the prefs.js file:
    user_pref( "mailnews.start_page.url ", "http://home.netscape.com/ ");

    Try adding this line to your user.js file. This should (fingers crossed) retain the setting for you, as Netscape cannot write to the user.js file.

    Let us know if you continue to have problems.

    Ramona, I checked the pref.js and it shows the link to home.netscape.com just as you showed it. Yesterday I brought up Mozilla 1.3 and when I brought up mail the link was still there. Will let you know if it disappears again.
