Right-click it and unlock it, then left-click and hold the button down and drag it to the bottom. Now lock the taskbar.

Doesn't work. I already tried dragging it. It wont go any farther than halfway down and fills half the screen.

Try doing it in two moves, first to the side then to the bottom.

Google should have the answer, unless you're infected with 'something'.

You are clicking on the edge, that will pull open and enlarge any window.

Click your task bar in the center of the empty space between the quick menu on the left and the system tray (Time) on the right.

Now drag the whole bar instead of expanding its size!

I have clicked along the Whole task bar , middle , sides , everywhere, always same thing. I know that when you point to a corner on any window you can move it anywhere but this doesn't. I dont get the four way arrow or side to side arrow on my mouse only the up and down one. I tried moving it everywhere!

    Check this:

Rt click blank spot on desktop then properties then Desktop Tab then customize desktop then Web.

If Lock Desktop Items is checked then uncheck it and click ok!

I can only suggest checking for malware OR that if you may be using some sort of "power tool" software.

You shouldn't be getting the "up and down one ". It should stay as an ordinary cursor. You must be clicking on the edge.

I really appreciate everyone's help on this. I finnaly got it back. I read ( on the net )to hold the curser over the clock and right click, hold it down and move to the center of the side you want it to go. Nothing moves when you drag the curser but it will appear when you release. I had to go from top to side to bottom. Again, Thanks everyone, Herb

This was a little tricky for me. I't didn't work from top to bottom but worked when I moved it from the top to the side, then from side to bottom. Again Thanks! Herb
